VoIP Phone Service is fast becoming a viable alternative to the old time
Analog Phones and PBX Systems most businesses still use.
Voice over IP (VoIP) means nothing more then putting your voice over the same lines that your
computer data currently runs over. In its infancy, VoIP was a great concept but poorly implemented. It has reached
the stage now where its reliability is as good as a regular phone system and in some respects will give you
superior service to existing phone systems.
SYNERGY represents several companies with a variety of different products that will satisfy your
financial and productivity requirements.
Some of the "cool" features of these systems include:
-
Converting Voicemail to a wav file and sending to your email so you can listen to your messages through
email
-
Using Outlook to call your contacts
-
Hurricane protection which will keep your phones up and running even if there is no power or service at
your business address
These are just a few of the many features ONLY available through VoIP.
We have programs that start as low as $33/mo per phone number (3 phone number minimum or $99/mo)
which includes UNLIMITED local/long distance and UNLIMITED calls to 35 countries. This is a hosted solution (see
below)
There are two types of VoIP systems that can be installed
HOSTED
A hosted system means that all of the features of your phone system...the Auto Attendant, Voice
Mail, Routing features etc. are hosted off premises at the VoIP providers location. The advantages of the hosted
service is the elimination of the hardware and associated costs within your office. Another major advantage is that
the equipment is kept in secure locations that are typically protected against bad weather, and power outages.
Hardened buildings, diesel powered generators in the event of power outages are just some of the protection offered
by Hosted VoIP vendors. Hosted systems are also always updated so you always have the latest, most innovative
feature set. The only equipment you have to buy are the phone sets and a QOS device (explained below).
NON-HOSTED
A non-hosted system means that the "brain" of the system is located on your premises. An example of
this is the MICROSOFT Response Point Phone System which is talked about in more detail on the next tab. Once you
purchase the hardware, monthly service can be as low as $23/month per phone number with free local service. Long
Distance service is $10/month for blocks of 500 minutes...which again includes 35 countries. Having your own system
gives you easier access to make changes and more control over the system.
BOTH Hosted & Non-Hosted services offer disaster protection by AUTOMATICALLY forwarding your
phone calls to the number of your choice (cell number, home number, branch office number) in the event of an outage
at your location. Based on your needs, we can offer whichever system works best for you!
QOS Device
This is an important part of your new VoIP system. It is a piece of hardware that is attached to
your network that will insure the quality of your voice service. Many of us use a VoIP solution at home...Vonage,
MagicJack, etc. Overall, quality is pretty good but there are times you hear echo's or static. This is unacceptable
in a business environment therefore we like to use a device that gives priority to voice over your data. This
doesn't mean that your data over the internet will suffer, but what it does do is insure that your VOICE over
the internet will NOT suffer and it will maintain a high level of quality for all your phone calls.
The VoIP companies we represent offer a variety of services which allows us to tailor the right
program to your needs
